-As a veteran professional educator myself, specializing in the area of physical education and more specifically, the area of adapted physical education, I know the importance of teaching using developmentally appropriate practices. Not only have I seen coach Matt implement this method of teaching from very first time I observed my son in one of his classes, but Coach Matt takes it to the next level! For those of us who have witnessed his teaching firsthand, it is evident of Coach Matt's love for the game of tennis and his genuine interest in seeing children succeed. He captures his students' interest levels with a variety of teaching methods including skill development for the beginner to the advanced student with one of the most motivating techniques I have ever seen, the use of "PASSION WORDS!"

- Hi Matt,

As both a parent and a participant, I believe that “Passion Tennis” is the best amateur, program that I have ever seen.

I felt like I hit the lottery when I found “Passion Tennis”. It stresses many of the principles of life that I embrace. Everyone is treated the same in this program, even though the instructors will be quick to tell you they have their favorites. I believe that one of the reasons that “Passion Tennis” has found such a strong following is that Henderson has mostly new residents. The newbie’s quickly find a home at “Passion Tennis”. Everyone is required to introduce themselves, be social, say passion tennis words and yes, high five the coaches and each other. The strong leadership, which does go against some people’s grain, creates a definite sense of community and family.

“Passion Tennis” is great for kids. The things you teach them about honesty, fair play, responsibility, positive attitude and leadership are life lessons that are much more valuable than a good backhand. I will never forget you gathering a group of us after a lesson and telling us to respect a 10 year old participant or leave. That was a defining moment for this player. The respect you showed her, and demanded that the rest of us show her, will be part of her character forever. I find it incredible that we kind find this kind of passion and principles in our own local program.

I truly feel blessed that I found your Passion programs.

-Coach Matt continually demonstrates exemplary leadership skills in being able to actively and successfully engage multiple courts of players while maintaining a great level of enthusiasm, feedback, safety and extensive positive reinforcement! My son, a child with a passive and shy personality had never succeeded or held a desire to play in any other sport we had afforded him the opportunity to participate in. However, when it came to the game of tennis, my son developed in an approximate nine month peroid of time into this confident, more outgoing, and assertive child who couldn't wait to get to the court on tennis days. I feel it is directly attributed to the confidence, friendships, and sense of watchful and encouraging eye! He loved running up to and giving Coach Matt a big High five, knowing that was his ticket to playing tennis "games" for the next sixty minutes. As a parent I loved seeing my son's success and development as well! This was a great and welcomed opportunity for me to say something quick and of importance to Coach Matt regarding my son or vice versa. It also let Coach Matt know he was checked in and on the court and that I would be available as part of the chain of support while allowing my son to participate in a safe learning environment. Before long, this ritual of giving high fives trickled down to my three year old daughter. She too loved giving Coach Matt a high five, sometimes four or five of them! To this day my daughter knows and expects that each time she sees Coach Matt, she'll be giving him a high five "hello". It is because of this type of excitement on behalf of Mr. Springer that I too, began taking lessons and why it was my intention all along with the encouragement of Mr. Springer that brought me to the point of wanting to get my daughter involved in lessons as well.

-Almost every technique "Passion Programs" utilize during a one hour instructional period can be used to teach children across grade levels, ability levels, and curriculum and would without a doubt be an asset to instructors across the Clark County School District and beyond!

With much appreciation to you, Coach Matt for such an exuberant tennis program. We greatly appreciate you and all your efforts in maintaining the most fun, exciting, and passionate tennis program in the City!

-Being part of the "Passion" tennis program has been an priceless experience
for my children, and now myself. When we first embarked into the world of tennis, my daughter thought it would be fun to give it a try. After her 1st lesson, her older brother was begging me to sign him up too. Two years later, all 3 of my children love belonging to the "Passion Program" and feel a special part of something greater than themselves.

"Passion Programs" has instilled in my children, the importance of 'giving back to the world around you'. Within the program, we have met so many fabulous people who donate their time, talents and efforts to make "Passion" the greatest organization to be a part of.
The coaches go above and beyond their expected jobs, everyday. They give their all to every lesson and activity, making learning so much fun that the kids want to play and practice all the time. This excitement & enthusiasm spreads to everyone in the program and we have felt included in a huge "family" that rallies together to cheer on the kids as they learn and grow and creates a life-long love for the game of tennis and our "Passion Program" friends!

A huge High Five to Coach Matt, Anna, Coach G, Jackie, Elliot, Zach & Chris!
